Electronics Engineer - vacancy posted April 2013

We are currently looking for an Electronics Engineer (1-2 years post graduate experience) with an established background in design and development to join our Product Design Team.  This is an opportunity for a highly motivated individual with a good working knowledge of electronics design and development.  The post holder will report to the Director of Product Design.

Working closely with colleagues as part of the product design team, the post holder will be responsible for developing electronics for existing microdisplay based products and for contributing to the design of new products.

We are looking for a self-motivator who is capable of operating effectively in a self-directed independent manner (please provide examples of such conduct performed in previous jobs/assignments) and who is flexible and adaptable. The successful candidate must be a good team player and will possess good problem solving skills and ingenuity as well as good communication skills.
 
This job opportunity requires that applicants have all relevant, finalised paperwork regarding having the right to work legally in the UK in order to be considered for this position.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

The candidate should have good knowledge of:

Digital circuit design
FPGA and /or CPLD firmware design (VHDL or Verilog)
Schematic capture
The Basic test and debug of electronic circuits

Experience of the following will be an ADVANTAGE:

High speed digital design
Video/graphics interfacing (A/D, PLL, etc)
Signal interfacing
PCB design
Embedded systems
Display technologies
Analogue design

Key Responsibilities include:

The provision of digital and analogue electronic designs as part of the product design team
To support and develop existing products (cost reduction, component obsolescence, etc)
The creation and maintenance of design documentation (requirement specifications, design descriptions, PCB layout requirements, test procedures, etc)
Design for manufacturability
The debug and verification of prototype designs
